Happy 6 months Mr. Cameron

Who is this little man, and where did my baby go?

Cameron is learning, exploring & wrapping us a tighter around his little fingers.

He had his 6 month check up on the 27th.

Yes, I've been a bad blogger, I confess.

It's been a lot harder than I anticipated.

Believe you me, there are plenty of pictures & stories to share.

Getting time to actually update his blog is a whole other story.

But, you're always welcome to come visit & see our little man in person. ;)

I'll even bakes some cookies.

How's that for an open invitation?

At Mr. Cameron's check up he weighed 17.25 lbs (CHUCK) & 26.25 inches long .

As you can see jar food has been a huge hit.

Cameron's favorites include (so far) peas, green beans, squash, pears, fresh bananas (yes, fresh. I have to squish fresh bananas for the king because jar is unacceptable), fresh avocado and watermelon.

How does he eat the fresh watermelon?

Well, some smarty pants came up w/the idea of netted "pacifier" contraption.

You're able to snap it open, insert fruit and snap close.

Why, can't I think of a multi-million dollar idea? Even a thousand dollar idea would suffice.

~Along with working on his Buddha belly, Cameron also loves to clap.

Even if he's a tad grumpy, a little YAY! will get him going. So cute.

~Thankfully, he's not Mr. Grumpy Pants that often. He (WE) survived his first tooth. That stubborn tooth finally broke through. His one tooth grin is priceless.

~I hope this doesn't jinx anything but, for the past couple of nights he's slept through the night. For awhile he would wake up (if we were lucky) once for a bottle. But, he's finally gone to bed by 8 & waking up as late as 7:30!

~He's becoming a PLOP! champion. Rolling over & not automatically crying. It's the little things that count too.

~For about a week, he's been pushing & scooting around the carpet. Poor Oscar & Sadie. They have no idea what's in store.

~He's getting bolder & stronger with sitting up. He not only sits up but leans over for objects.

To be perfectly honest my baby is nosey. He's nosey just like his mama & makes me love him more. You can't pass by an object without him grabbing for it or stretching his neck out to see his surroundings. I've yet to get that on camera but trust me, cuteness overload.

Once, while in the produce at Target he grabbed a plastic bottle of lemon juice. He held onto that little bottle until we got to the check out. The employee was pretty impressed & laughed.

~That brings us to his next attribute. He's Mr. Social. I believe that's how the clapping caught on.

"Oh. If I clap it makes the ladies swoon. *CLAP* *CLAP*"

~He's definitely found his voice. He's been practicing is voice range. Usually he keeps it on LOUD. The first time he realized it could reach the pitch of ear ringing, I panicked. I thought he was in pain, so I lifted him out of the Jumperoo.....and he laughed. Oh really?

~Giving kisses. He loves to grab your face, open mouth & plant a big, fat, juicy one on your cheek, chin, ear, forehead. Basically whatever he can get a hold of.

Yesterday, he decided to give a kiss to one of the little girls at daycare. :/ Too soon, my little chunk, too soon.

~Associates his floatie with swimming. I realized this one a little too late. I left his floatie out & once he saw it he started kicking his legs. It now stays in the closet until we go swimming.

~Holding up his bottle. Again, too soon. Paul loves that he's starting to hold it but in defiance I knock it out of his hand. You need me! Stop it!

~He understands the word "hit". Not in a DONTHITTHEDOG!!! kind of way. We bought a few books with build in balls that squeak. We tell him to "hit it" so the ball will squeak. Now he grabs the books & hits the ball without our coaching.

~We've been working on Sign Language. We started with a few basic words but he's beginning to sign "milk". It doesn't happen every time but he's catching on. :)

Old favorites are still favorites:

~Whistling (Blowing raspberries. Think Party King Julian from Madagascar: Return to Africa)

~Swimming. We go at least twice a week. He loves it so much we don't restrict to just day visits. We'll venture out at night too.)

~Kick-kick-kick!!! Just say the words & his little legs go flailing about.

Old favorites that are still my favorite:

~Watching his face light up when I walk in the room.

~Watching my little fish swim. He kicks the entire time, he's a natural.

~Listening to him "talk" so he doesn't fall asleep, on our way home from daycare.

~Looking back & realizing that he finally talked himself to sleep.

~Spending time with my boys, my family, my loves.

I'm sure there's bits & pieces that I've missed. But I'll end it on that note.

Plus, what's a post with out pics?!

Here are a few (with many more to follow) of Wednesday night.

Just another carefree night full of laughter, drool, kick-kick-kick & funny faces.

See, that naughty tooth (his bottom left)?

Ay, yi, yi love this face.

My Little Bookworm

When your Uncle Richard was a baby I would read to him. One of my favorite memories, when he started bringing the books to me. He would even ask me to sing along as we watched Disney movies. But, that’s another story. I loved reading so it was fun for me. I would sometimes get in trouble with your Great Grandma for reading in bed with my Mickey Mouse flashlight (yes, baby you can have a Mickey Mouse flashlight).

While I was pregnant, we started your book collection. I couldn't wait to read the classics! Dr. Suess, The Bernstain Bears, Little Critter or any book for that matter. When we first started reading to you, you just listened. You’re not so quiet now.
You bat at the books, “read” along & my new favorite, hold the books. We usually read at bedtime but anytime is a good time to read if you ask me.

So I grabbed "Rainy Day Friends" & I think this may be your favorite so far. You were laughing which made me laugh & squealed every time Patches the giraffe was on a page. She’s so pretty.
I love that you hold the book now & asked Daddy to take a picture. It was a wonderful surprise to see he took pictures of us. He’s the best.

My little bookworm, I can't wait for you to bring the books to me.

It's amazing how much my love can grow for someone so little.

all my hugs & kisses

Mommy

P.s. Auntie Julia, I included all the pictures for you. It's like you were there! ;)

Da-ddy

Your daddy loves you so much.

When I was pregnant I told you all the time, "I found the perfect daddy for you. I can't wait until you meet him." & it's so true. Everyone can see the endless love he has for you. He never complains about changing your diapers, giving you a hug when you need it or waking up at midnight, 2 & sometimes once more at 4 to give you a bottle.

I still remember the day we found out you were a boy. The room was so dark I couldn't see his face but the nurse said, "oh daddy is crying" he was so happy. Then the day you were born, daddy cried again. Always tears of joy, my love. To watch him beam with pride while you "whistle", stick your feet in your mouth or kick those little legs fills me with so much love.

It's almost Fathers day. His first Fathers day & I'm a nervous wreck.

I want the day to be perfect.

I want his gifts to be perfect.

As perfect as you are, as perfect as daddy is for you.

I've come up with a few ideas for the day, a few presents in mind but the one that I feel will make the most impact is a picture. Miss Val took these pictures on our last family Cali trip. She put the whole thing together & I think it's just perfect.

I'm sure this will make those happy tears come out again, it did for Mommy.

Thanks again Val.

Cameron's Fan Club

I'm sure your fan club existed before, but it was declared the day we brought you home.

I posted this picture on myspace & captioned it "Cameron's Fan Club"
Then poof! Your club was born. So many people have joined. Friends, Family, even strangers off the street. Just one look at those dimples & they fall in love instantly.

One of your biggest fans, Miss Nicole.
She has been friends with mommy for a long time (9 years!). She's been so excited for your arrival (even before Mommy & Daddy were married). She has two little boys of her own Cooper & Chase so, before we left California she gave you a bunch of clothes, blankets, socks, even little hats. We were so sad to say goodbye but promised to stay in touch. Well, not only did we keep that promise but she sends you packages full of goodies. You've received jar food, jammies, a silk blanket w/football to hold, safari blanket, diapers & cute sport socks. She also sent a cute "Peas on Earth" onesie. Miss Nicole wanted us to send a picture of you in it. Well, at the time it was way too big. But now, it fits like a glove.

So without further ado, thank you Miss Nicole! We love & miss you very much!

You're so very loved, monkey.

Rolly Polly

You're so happy sitting up (with a little bit of help) I thought for sure you would never roll over. For awhile you've been teetering onto your side & then *PLOP* right back where you started. Today you teetered like usual, Daddy tried to be sneaky & say you rolled over but I said, "not until he's on his stomach." So, guess what you did Mr. Watch-what-I-can-do?

You rolled onto your stomach!

Weekend low: Wow, I can't really think of anything. We went out for dinner with friends on Saturday. You were a good boy. Didn't cry or fuss until it was close to bedtime (8). But, we came home gave you a bath, bottle & you were ready for bed. :)

Weekend high: I got my nails done. Just kidding! You rolled over love! I was sitting on the couch reading a book while Daddy laid next to you. He said you went onto your side & then fully rolled over! It was funny to watch Daddy jump up & shakes his arms in excitement, WOO HOO!" then I looked over & realized what was going on, "get the camera! get the camera!" Oscar & Sadie joined in the moment & started running around your play mat. It was definitely the hightlight of the weekend. :)

Hugs & kisses, kisses & hugs
I love you from here to the farthest star baby love

Happy Mother's Day (to me!)

My love.

My buttercup, my lemon pie, my love bug.

My son.

It's still amazing that I have a baby. Not only do I have a baby but the fact that you're my baby. For being so small you bring so much joy & love into my life. Hearing you fart makes me smile. How's that for endless love?

This year was my first official Mother's day. It was nothing short of spectacular. Daddy pointed out that this time last year I didn't even know I was pregnant. How funny so much can change in one short year.

I was very excited to enjoy "my" day & parade around in a "yes, this is my baby boy" glow.

We started the day with breakfast. This became my favorite meal of the day when I was pregnant. Ok, eating in general made us happy but breakfast especially. Our first ride out to Az we saw a little restaurant that served breakfast & lunch only. The line wrapped around the block so we knew it had to be good. So on Sunday Daddy said we needed to wake up early (:/) for his first surprise of the day.

We waited next to an older lady & let me tell you, you made her day. You talked & smiled being as cute as can be. Just add her to your fan club. Another lady asked how old you were. She guessed you were 7 months! Chunka cheese, you're just a healthy lookin' boy. The wait wasn't too bad. They had water misters that kept you nice & cool.
After lunch we went home. Daddy left for a while so we took a nap on the couch. Napping with you is the best way to spend the day. You're so cuddly. When Daddy came home he woke me up (double :/) & gave me presents (triple :D). A bouquet of beautiful flowers with one very special "rose". Can you see it?

It's your handprint love!

The inside read:

Sometimes you get discouraged
because I am so small

and always leave my fingerprints

on furniture and walls

But everyday I'm growing

I'll be grown someday

and all those tiny handprints

will surely fade away

So here's a little handprint

just so you can recall
exactly how my fingerprint looked
when I was really small

Happy Mother's Day!
Love,
Cameron

I cried, happy tears. It was very thoughtful, thank you (& to Miss Ruth who helped). It's being framed & going on the wall with the rest of your art work.

Then I was off for a massage. I think Daddy helped you with that present. :)
When I came home guess who else couldn't resist cuddling with you? After your (2nd!) nap we headed out to the pool.

The water was a little chilly, we've been spoiled with indoor/heated pools. So we made a quick dip into the spa.
You didn't mind getting your ears wet in warm water.
After our swim, Daddy started dinner & bbq'd some steaks (yummy!). Then it was bathtime. You're getting so good at noticing well, everything. That night you tried grabbing the drip of water from the faucet then saw your reflection & grabbed toward it.
You simply amaze me.

Thank you for the wonderful gifts & endless smiles.
All of my hugs & kisses
Mommy
