Guess who's 4 months today?

You, love bug!

This time last year, you were an itty, bitty bean in Mommy's belly. I remember looking at the sonogram and thinking,

"Holy moly, there's a baby in my belly!"
Now I hold you in my arms and think,
"Holy moly, you use to fit in my belly!"

Most importantly, who did I make silly faces with before you?

Priceless.

I love..

Watching you try (& sometimes successfully) shove your fist into your mouth. Because one finger just isn’t enough.

How you’re slowly discovering your feet.

How your face lights up when we lift you into the air. Airplane, Weeeeeeee!!!

Watching your Dwayne “The Rock” impression while showing us how hard you can kick.

How infectious your laugh can be.

Watching your face light up when you see Daddy & Mommy.

Watching you push your feet against the floor as you lay. I can’t wait to see/hear your reaction when you roll over.

Pulling off your sock for bath time, holding it above your head, letting it fall & listening to you laugh on impact.

Listening to you “talk” on our way home from daycare.

Looking back when you stop talking & realize you fell asleep mid-sentence.

Singing “Put Your Head On My Shoulder” when you cry & feel you calm instantly.

The 9th wonder of the world: Your hair.

But most of all, I love being your Mommy. You’re so precious. From your long lashes (that seems to just emerge one day) to your feet (that feel soft as flour) I can’t help but be amazed by you & everything you do.

Hop, Hop, Hoppy First Easter!

Yesterday, after your swimming lesson we went to go visit the Easter Bunny. Mommy sat you on his lap but we couldn't really see your face or cute little outfit. So, we decided to take a picture at home with your own Easter bunny.

Picture perfect.

Happy Easter love bug!

just keep swimming, swimming, swimming

We were very busy this past weekend. On Friday, we made it to the menu tasting! It was nice to do something out of the ordinary and not have to worry about dinner. The food was delicious but the real highlight were the people. It’s always nice when strangers go out of their way to say how cute you are, look at that hair! or just to simply say hello. Usually you smile or coo back. You’re becoming quite the social butterfly!

On Saturday we woke up bright & early for our nature walk.

Nothing says good morning then a nice big stretch!

It was pretty windy so we put you in the stroller. I guess you weren’t too impressed by all the cacti.

So you decided to take a nap. I think you were just saving all your energy for later that day. The real fun began that afternoon. We drove out to Gold Metal Swim School for your very first swimming lesson.

We hoped you would enjoy the lesson but weren’t sure how you would react. Well, guess what?

You loved it.

After a few songs & water games the instructor handed us a swimming noodle. I held you for awhile but finally I (nervously) let you go.

My own little fishy. You did it! You kicked those little legs, sucked on the side of the noodle (very important) & just floated around worry free.

Daddy & I decided to sign you up for lessons. We’re going back on Saturday & it’s Daddy’s turn to play with you. Lucky Daddy.

Weekend low: Mommy was nervous about submerging you under water. Daddy was showing me how to do it & accidently dropped the camera in the pool.

Weekend high: Seeing you in those red Speedos.

I love you sugar plum.
All my hugs & kisses

num, num, num

You’ve always loved your hands. Even when you were in mommy’s belly, the dr. would give us an ultrasound & there you were, happily sucking your fingers. After you were born we would swaddle you to sleep, soon after you would wiggle your little fingers free & again, happily suck your fingers.

You’re getting so good at controlling your movements. So good in fact, that you can reach out to, grab & shove objects into your mouth. I say, shove because either your extremely excited to have something new to suck on or you’re attacking all of your blankets, bibs & most of all your toys.

This morning you thought it would be fun to spend some alone time with mommy. So you woke up at 4 am & the fun began. You ate, I got you dressed for the day & you showed Mr. Cow who’s boss.

Today’s low: It’s really, really windy today. Hopefully this doesn’t ruin our plans for tonight. We’re going to a cooking class. Yum!

Today’s high: I’ve never been happier waking up at 4am. Thanks for making mommy smile. How about we do it again, but this time around 6am?

I love you pumpkin butt
All my hugs & kisses
