Happy Mother's Day (to me!)

My love.

My buttercup, my lemon pie, my love bug.

My son.

It's still amazing that I have a baby. Not only do I have a baby but the fact that you're my baby. For being so small you bring so much joy & love into my life. Hearing you fart makes me smile. How's that for endless love?

This year was my first official Mother's day. It was nothing short of spectacular. Daddy pointed out that this time last year I didn't even know I was pregnant. How funny so much can change in one short year.

I was very excited to enjoy "my" day & parade around in a "yes, this is my baby boy" glow.

We started the day with breakfast. This became my favorite meal of the day when I was pregnant. Ok, eating in general made us happy but breakfast especially. Our first ride out to Az we saw a little restaurant that served breakfast & lunch only. The line wrapped around the block so we knew it had to be good. So on Sunday Daddy said we needed to wake up early (:/) for his first surprise of the day.

We waited next to an older lady & let me tell you, you made her day. You talked & smiled being as cute as can be. Just add her to your fan club. Another lady asked how old you were. She guessed you were 7 months! Chunka cheese, you're just a healthy lookin' boy. The wait wasn't too bad. They had water misters that kept you nice & cool.
After lunch we went home. Daddy left for a while so we took a nap on the couch. Napping with you is the best way to spend the day. You're so cuddly. When Daddy came home he woke me up (double :/) & gave me presents (triple :D). A bouquet of beautiful flowers with one very special "rose". Can you see it?

It's your handprint love!

The inside read:

Sometimes you get discouraged
because I am so small

and always leave my fingerprints

on furniture and walls

But everyday I'm growing

I'll be grown someday

and all those tiny handprints

will surely fade away

So here's a little handprint

just so you can recall
exactly how my fingerprint looked
when I was really small

Happy Mother's Day!
Love,
Cameron

I cried, happy tears. It was very thoughtful, thank you (& to Miss Ruth who helped). It's being framed & going on the wall with the rest of your art work.

Then I was off for a massage. I think Daddy helped you with that present. :)
When I came home guess who else couldn't resist cuddling with you? After your (2nd!) nap we headed out to the pool.

The water was a little chilly, we've been spoiled with indoor/heated pools. So we made a quick dip into the spa.
You didn't mind getting your ears wet in warm water.
After our swim, Daddy started dinner & bbq'd some steaks (yummy!). Then it was bathtime. You're getting so good at noticing well, everything. That night you tried grabbing the drip of water from the faucet then saw your reflection & grabbed toward it.
You simply amaze me.

Thank you for the wonderful gifts & endless smiles.
All of my hugs & kisses
Mommy

  3. Sounds like you had a very busy and happy day making Mommy's Day the best that it could be. You are growing so and the pictures show just how alert you have gotten to be. How could the lady not join your fan club? To know you is to hop on that band wagon.
    Love you,
    Grandma J
